Description
Our Decathlon Quechua, Nonstick Stainless Steel, 71 oz, 14 Piece Camping Cookware Cooking set, 2 Person, Gray, is suitable for all types of flames (wood, gas, induction, etc.). A folding handle on the frying pan locks (and unlocks) by pushing (or pulling) the metal component in the center. The lid of the saucepan is secured during transit by a unique 2-part folding handle. The lid can be used as a strainer and adapted to the frying pan. Underneath the plates is a structural design that inhibits heat transfer. We recommend storing the parts in the following sequence to reduce total size and noise during transport: Cutlery is stored in the lid, while mugs and plates are placed in the pan. The table mat secures the set, while the cover makes it easy to travel, even when it’s soiled. You can even place all the bits in the pan if you’re in a rush or aren’t excellent at tidying up (it’ll just be noisier and less optimal).

The choice of materials for our cook sets: a crucial choice
- We chose 18/8 (304) stainless steel because it combines food safety and long-term resistance: It does not oxidize and prevents corrosion. Stainless steel is a bit less conductive than aluminum, we have added a double aluminum layer under our pans and frying pans in the MH500 range. This diffuses the heat and increases heating efficiency, reducing the amount of gas needed to cook.
How did we choose the coating for our cook sets?
- We have chosen a PTFE Xylem + coating by the brand Whiteford for its non-stick/durability/price balance and because it is adapted to fine layers of metal (which isn’t the case for ceramics). This coating does not contain PFOA-based glue and is suitable for cooking foods. As with all coatings, we recommend that you avoid using metal cutlery or utensils, to avoid damaging the coatings.
- We have chosen polyamide (cutlery and handle), polypropylene (plates, mugs), Tritan (lid), and silicon (table mat) were chosen because they are lightweight and very resistant to heat (at least 212F°), shocks, and deformation.
